Imaniceperson.com - Helping a Homeless Woman

Yesterday I was shopping at Wal Mart and on the way out I saw a lady in the parking lot with a sign that read, "Mother of 3 Needs Help, electricity is shut off. Please help".

It literally brought me to tears because I know how easily this could be my family. While I know some people scam this way, I could see the anguish in her eyes. I grabbed all of my change in my purse and gave it to her. She was sooooo thankful.

Honestly, I didn't feel like I did enough. I ended up going back in WalMart to get some cash out of the ATM and I went back outside and gave her $20. She hugged me and we both started crying. I told her I have 3 kids and I also told her to keep her head up because she is valuable to her family regardless of her job or income. She thanked me again and I got in my car and went home. I felt so good from helping her although my heart still hurt from seeing her in pain.

It stayed on my mind all night and I woke up this morning still thinking about her.

There are so many people out of work right now. If we can do anything to help it is definitely worth it. I pray that God looks after these people and his people carry out his wishes by helping others.
