It's been a crazy journey the past several months trying to put together this website.  The road is full of forks with decisions often made based on the most urgent need at the time.  It hasn't been easy taking an "Idea" and putting it into action.  Many people are full of ideas and don't take action.  Only time will tell if this "idea" will come to fruition and reach our objective of "Making the World a Better Place".

Whether it grows or not I have to say this has been a wonderful journey.  Building this site has been so valuable for me on a personal level as it has helped me focus even more on the NICE things that occur all around me on a daily basis.  It has helped me to be a Nicer person, it's helped me look for the Nice in people, and it's helped me appreciate the Nice things people do on a small scale.

I now see and take note of the crossing guard who smiles or waves every time I stop to let the kids cross the street after school, the convenience store clerk who says hello every time I stop by, the people who smile or say "Thank You"  when you hold the door, the list goes on and on and on.

There really are billions of Nice People in this World.  Nice is everywhere.  I've so often heard, "This World is a lot rougher than it used to be."  I've even felt that at times based on the violence, hate crime, war, crime, etc. that we hear about or read about in the media.  I think they could do a better job of promoting the good in the World.  Ratings obviously drive them to focus on the bad.  This leads me to wonder..."Why are we drawn to the "bad" news?  Is it to feel better about ourselves or is it to fuel our emotions?  Why do we watch the R rated movies filled with guns and murder?  These questions have intrigued me for quite some time.

I personally don't watch the first 15 minutes of the news and I don't watch the violent shows on TV or in the Theater.  I like the comedies, the 'feel good' movies, the inspirational documentaries, etc.  I tell people I came from the "Leave it to Beaver"/"Brady Bunch" generation.  Maybe I'm jaded as to the reality of the World we live in.  But then again, maybe not.  ImaNicePerson.com has already proven to me this World is a lot better than many believe.

As this is my first blog post I want to Thank many people who have led me to this journey.  If I accidentaly leave some of you out don't feel bad as your name just didn't cross my mind at this specific moment of writing.

Thanks to all of my friends who have been friends because of our common bonds.  Not just my closest friends...all of my friends.  We've shared the good, the bad, and the ugly and we've trusted each other along the way.  In particular thank you to Keven, Chuck, and Tommy.  You three know me as well as anyone.  You've always been good listeners, you offer good advice whether I take it or not, you help me laugh at my mistakes, you're not jealous or braggidocious(sp?), and you've made my life better because of your presence.

Thank you to my co workers and employers.  You've given me a means to support myself and my family.  You've given me a platform for learning, you've pushed me to do better, and you've respected me for who I am.

Thank you to Patrick for taking the time to me with us when we were toying with the idea of creating this site.  Your knowledge and suggestions have been the catalyst for where we are today in regards to ImaNicePerson.com.  Hopefully soon we'll be able to "Pay It Forward" to you.

Thank you to Wyant for looking at our business plan and giving us suggestions for making our site without losing everything.  Just because you didn't invest doesn't mean we don't appreciate you taking the time to look at our plan and offer suggestions.  That alone has been quite valuable.

Thank you to my wife and children who support my countless hours of passion into this creation even though no income is coming in.  I could thank them for hours.  I especially want to thank my kids for loving me and looking up to me even when I'm underperforming in my duties as a provider or father.  You give me so much drive, you inspire me to be a better person, and you teach me alot about the World which otherwise may go unnoticed.

I want to Thank my Brothers and Sisters and their families for helping create who I am today.  You've helped me laugh, you've challenged me, you've appreciated me for who I am, you've set good examples for me as you've lived wonderful lives.  We are all different yet we are all the same.  You make me proud to be a part of this family.

Most of all I want to thank my parents.  You've been the biggest inspiration in my life.  You've stayed together, you've taught me to be kind and courteous to others, you've taught me to respect all people regardless of degree of wealth or social status, you've taught me to never give up, you've taught me to stay positive, you've showed me how to love, you've listened when I have things to say, and you've loved me and disreguarded my faults unconditionally throughout my life.  I only wish you didn't worry about me.....but I know that's what parents do.  You are the two most wonderful people in the World in my book.

Finally I want to thank God for everything I have in this world....family, memories, challenges, ups and downs, love, guidance, a listening ear from my soul.....in a nutshell, everything.  Your plan has led me here.  I have no idea what the future holds for me but I look forward the rest of the journey knowing you'll be with me the entire time.

I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY IMANICEPERSON.COM.

I look forward to gaining inspiration from you in the future.
